What Should I Expect?
What if I Don't Know Exactly What I Need?
That is okay! We will figure it out together. Sometimes life can feel so jumbled and it can be helpful to have someone outside of your family and friends to sort through it all.
What Does a Session Look Like?
Each session is different and I am all about catering the session to meet your individual needs. It is important to me that I meet you where you are at in that moment and therefore each session can look different based on that.
How Long Is a Session?
Individual sessions are 50 minutes and
couples and family sessions are 60 minutes.
How Long Will This Take?
Sessions typically happen once a week for 6-12 weeks, depending on what you are needing as an individual. Sessions can occur longer than this, or shorter. Therapy is truly an individual process and does not look the same for every single person. Once you start to feel more confident As you start to feel more comfortable with your ability to apply skills obtained in therapy into your everyday life, sessions take place less often and usually go to every other week or less than that, as a follow-up.
What if I Have Never Done This Before?
Counseling can be a scary and daunting experience that is often avoided by many. If you are feeling nervous, anxious, or scared about starting this process, you are not alone. Almost everyone feels that way about something they have never done before, especially when it comes to dealing with difficult things in your life. Let yourself feel those emotions and we will work together to help you gain comfort and safety in the therapy process.
