Hello! I am the Owner and Founder of Nurtured Hearts Counseling and a Licensed Professional Counseling (LPC) in the state of Colorado.
I strive to help you find hope for your future and knowledge in knowing that your life doesn't have to be like this forever. You may find that you are having difficulty in relationships, you struggle with nightmares, anxiety, depression, feeling confident in yourself, or generally trusting people. I specialize in working with those who have had unwanted sexual experiences. Often, there is shame around these experiences and therefore they are not often talked about. It is important for you to know that you are not alone in what you are experiencing. Often times, when we are in the middle of a storm, it feels like we have to settle in, and it feels like things will never change. However, I am here to tell you that there is hope for happiness and peace in your life. Therapy is often daunting to face and therefore can create a hesitancy to move forward. It is important to me that you know this is your journey and we can move at the pace that feels manageable for you. You are in control and I encourage you to advocate for what you need throughout this process. Many clients walk into my office and comment on the fact that the space feels comforting and like "home". My goal is to make this process as comfortable and safe as possible while you face the memories, emotions, and experiences that are currently having a negative impact on your life. I look forward to connecting with you and figuring out if this is a good fit. The therapeutic relationship is so impactful on the overall process and it's important that you feel comfortable. |
Riley
Therapy Companion Hello! I am Riley. I am so excited to meet you. I love going to work with my mom, Brittany. I am a therapy dog in training.
I will greet you with a tail wag and some sniffs. While you are in session, you can expect me to lay on the ground at your feet or next to you on the couch. My favorite thing is belly rubs and love doing tricks for treats! I may even cuddle on your lap if that is something you are comfortable with. I am very aware of your personal space and comfort level with me. If you prefer not to have me in session, that is okay too. I don't always come to sessions with my mom. We value your process being unique to you and what is most helpful for you. I am very photogenic if you want to see some more pictures and learn more about the benefits of Animal Assisted Therapy here. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. We are happy to answer any that you may have. If you want to see me in session, schedule a session with my mom, Brittany. We look forward to meeting you! |
Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado.
I work to create a warm and authentic environment that we can utilize to explore different areas of your life that you feel stuck in. One area I specialize in is working with people struggling with eating disorders/body image in which I’ve seen that the need for stress management, comfort, or control is met by dangerous behaviors of bingeing, purging, restricting, or over-exercising which become all-consuming. I seek to help you find understanding in these behaviors, validate those needs, and discover new ways to meet your needs. I also specialize in working with people struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, and women’s issues. I also care deeply about working with women that are pregnant and postpartum. It is often indirectly communicated to mothers that they are expected to be self-less and put the needs of others before their own. How can we expect mothers to care for others when there is little care given to them? While becoming a mother is filled with love and excitement it can also be scary, isolating, and emotional. Mothers often do not have a village to lean on for support and are left to try to manage their difficult thoughts and emotions alone. I believe that mothers deserve to be nurtured and cared for no matter where they are in their motherhood journey. It takes a great deal of courage and vulnerability to pursue counseling and I am truly honored to be in this role of partnering with people on their journey. I believe that our emotions hold a lot of wisdom and power and should not be ignored but explored and validated. |

Therapist
720-336-0913 Hello! I am dually licensed in both AZ and CO holding both an LPC and a LAC. I am currently offering Video Therapy only at this time.
I am excited to work with folks struggling with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, stage of life issues, and other mental health concerns. Specifically I work to help people realize a new way to approach the debilitating fear often associated with anxiety and the overwhelming weight of despair that comes with depression. I believe very strongly in learning how to be present in the moment so we don’t lose our lives lost in either the past or the future. I am also passionate about working with folks struggling with substance addiction and have worked in the addiction space since 2013. The moment we realize that we might have a substance abuse issue is terrifying and overwhelming. We generally creep so slowly into addiction, how do we find a path out? It would be my honor to help you shed light on and work to heal past pain, experiences and even upbringing that may have you finding comfort in that old friend, lover at times…your drug of choice. I look forward to working with you to identify maladaptive coping techniques and replace them with new coping mechanisms utilizing mindfulness, thought stopping and creation of new habits, to name a few. I worked for several years in a behavioral health hospital setting both inpatient as well as outpatient and currently, in addition to private practice, I work within the Arizona prison system. These experiences have given me the opportunity to experience and learn from many people’s unique journeys which I believe helps me be an effective partner as you navigate your mental health needs. |
