These last 2 years have felt messy at best.
I have seen the meme appear over and over stating that it surely can’t be 2022, because we are all still processing 2020. Wow does that ring true more than many memes that I have come across. 2020 rocked all of our worlds and felt like something that no one had the coping skills for. No one could have prepared for that year, nor could we have foreseen what would play out over the next few years. In addition to the general state of our world, many clients had additional losses, crises, and life changes occur. This made life feel like a dark hole that felt impossible to crawl out of. The light felt like it was no longer existent and some wondered if it would ever reappear.

I wanted to speak about a topic that many are leery to speak about or don’t know what to say. Sexual trauma has absolutely been a topic in the media, but many don’t actually know about it and what a Survivor experiences day to day.
Trauma is complex and can look different for everyone, but I wanted to highlight a few things that many Survivors often experience. Both to validate your experience if you are a Survivor or if you have a Survivor in your life. |
